Thats a lot of brain freezing material! I mean all the words and the arrangements. All that time rolling through my brain as we bring it into some kind of presence in 2018. The band has been amazing.

Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes also played a festival in the Hunter Valley  in NSW on April 28th. In a forest clearing on a lucky fellows property, it was called GUMBALL and was a part of a local ongoing music happening/area called DASHVILLE.

We flew up to Newcastle and were met by Henry, who was going to drive us the rest of the way and also help with gear and mixing us. He'd already picked up Robin Casinader in Sydney (who'd flown there from Canberra). "We" were myself, Clare Moore, Rod Hayward and Stu Thomas.
We came into the festival site and got familiar with the place and the gear we were to use.
I had a chat with Ben Salter and he casually enquired as to what we would do . I said we had a decades worth of classic grooves and moves and it's all compressed into an hour for this show and I pitied the poor cunt who had to follow us. He said that that was actually going to be him. He laughed.
We went on at dusk and absolutely tore the joint up.

We were on a  real high after that and were happy to catch a mesmerising set from Rocket Science and another blazing triumph from THE AINTS. Had an absolutely fantastic time of it. Thank you everybody!

The next day we flew back to Melbourne , got into the van and drove to the Croxton, still buzzing and played a fully amped up set to end the first month of Sundays.

Video is public domain from here https://archive.org/details/TowersTh1957
It depicts Simon Rodia and the building of the Watts Towers in south-central Los Angeles. He started in 1921 and the film was made in the 1950s. From Wiki ... "The Watts Towers, Towers of Simon Rodia, or Nuestro Pueblo ("our town" in Spanish) are a collection of 17 interconnected sculptural towers, architectural structures, and individual sculptural features and mosaics within the site of the artist's original residential property in Watts, Los Angeles. The entire site of towers, structures, sculptures, pavement and walls were designed and built solely by Sabato ("Simon") Rodia (1879–1965), an Italian immigrant construction worker and tile mason, over a period of 33 years from 1921 to 1954. The tallest of the towers is 99.5 feet (30.3 m). The work is an example of outsider art or Art Brut and Italian-American naïve art".

Always been fascinated by them and referenced them in the lyric to APOLLO 69 on The Soft'n'Sexy Sound album in 1995. "billowin' pubic cloud below/groanin' shakin' scaffold sways/Nelsons Column/Isaac Hayes' SHAFT/ Watts Towers"

You're all wrong
not everybody
just you
but all of you
no!
I see a spectrum under you
thats a nice way of saying you're on it
you're all wrong
you're all wrong
you're all wrong
you're not right
you don't feel us feel you
you're all wrong
you're all wrong
ok, everybody
all of you
that's the way you're gonna hear this
you're all wrong
you're all wrong
nah- just you
but all of you
you're all wrong
you're all wrong
your nose
your smell
your walk
your words
your voice
your vibe
you're all wrong
you're all wrong
